Well, time is sure weird and it has been 15 years since Ben and I got married. We've been together nearly half our lives at this point, and somehow we still like each other.
As usual, Ben was more thoughtful than me when it came to our anniversary and had my wedding bouquet re-created and ordered a cake from the bakery who provided our wedding cake. I bought him a card.
We did take a trip together, however, without our lovely children. My parents came to stay with them while we took our camper up north to Cascade River State Park. I had hoped to spend our 15th anniversary in Hawaii, where we went for our honeymoon, but COVID put paid to that plan. However, northern Minnesota was lovely, even if I had to wear three shirts, three pairs of pants, wool socks and about ten blankets to bed every night. (It was cold.) We hiked (Grand Portage, CR Magney, Cascade River), drank beer, walked by Lake Superior, went out for coffee and donuts, read our books by the campfire, and ate cake. Maybe Hawaii for our 20th?

They really are the best donuts. The view of Lake Superior is pretty good, too. |

Grand Portage. We saw some Canadians and hiked for hours. |

More Grand Portage. |

And more. I don't have any pics from CR Magney, which was an easier hike but very beautiful. |

Inside (!) at the brewery in Grand Marais. #thanksscience |

The view from Lookout Mountain in Cascade River State Park. I may have whined a little on this hike. |
